Our philosophy is simple, we want more girls and women to play & stay in Football.

At She Can Play we believe creating a positive learning environment is essential for player development. We facilitate this by employing professional female role models; our coaches. We believe role models play such an important role for girls dreaming of becoming Footballers, this is why our Regional Coaches all represent teams in the Women’s Premier League or the Women’s Super League.

She Can Play’s journey started at The FA People’s Cup in January 2016, the largest 5 a side tournament in England with over 5000 teams entering. The She Can Play women’s team were unbeaten through the local and regional rounds and headed to Sheffield for the National Finals. After the Cup Final being broadcast live on the BBC red button, She Can Play narrowly missed out on the title taking Runners Up in the Women’s Category 2016.

Following this success, we were able to kick start our girls and women only Football sessions and become official partners with Sport Englands ‘This Girl Can’ campaign. She Can Play currently work with local charities, grassroots clubs, professional clubs, councils, mental health groups and schools to increase the number of girls playing Football in Essex
