The Unilever Research and Development degree apprenticeship scheme in Port Sunlight is your opportunity to join an exciting and challenging area within Unilever. Our apprentices follow a structured and challenging academic programme to achieve a BSc Honours degree delivered via a blended learning approach with Manchester Metropolitan University, as well as working on real projects with world renowned scientists that deliver to some of the 2.5 billion consumers who use a Unilever product every day.

As an R&D Apprentice, you will work with the R&D teams in both Home and Beauty & Personal Care areas, leading the way in developing new products in Laundry, household and personal care products. Over the 4 years you will study for a degree in laboratory sciences whilst experiencing working in different aspects of R&D, whether it is in the Homecare Global Design Centre to develop laundry and household care products for the global market, designing and utilising new technology to develop products for innovations truly ahead of the competition; or in Beauty and Personal Care delivering world class innovations in great Haircare products working with brands such as Tresemme, Sunsilk and TiGi.

Location: Unilever Port Sunlight, Wirral; close to Chester and Liverpool

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Grade requirements: At least 3 A levels (or equivalent) at grade B or above – to include Chemistry and at least one other from Physics; Biology; Maths or Further Maths

Passion for Science: You need to show a genuine interest in the subject area.

Skills/Competencies required:

Accountability & Responsibility: This is the next step in your career and with it comes accountability and responsibility. You will be working while you study and you will need to show you have the commitment and initiative to manage the pressures that this will bring.

Determination: You should have a passion to succeed and an ability to meet deadlines both at work and with your studies. You should be prepared to take on challenging work outside of your comfort zone.
