At Viridor, we're one of the UK's leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management companies and part of the FTSE 250 Pennon Group. Fast growing and investing over GBP1.2bn in the development of a network of advanced Energy Recovery Facilities (ERF) across the UK, we're reducing the reliance on landfill or exporting waste for treatment whilst becoming a revenue generating business.
Were giving the world's resources new life. Whether those resources are collected by our vehicles from a primary school in Kent or delivered into our ERF in Dunbar we transform 'waste' into the items and energy that society will need tomorrow.
It's at our Runcorn ERF that we currently have an exciting opportunity to join us on an Engineering Apprenticeship. We'll work with you and develop you to become a highly skilled maintenance technician or engineer who'll help to maintain our state of the art electro/mechanical systems used in our ERFs.

Becoming our Engineering Apprentice will require commitment to a comprehensive training programme, 'on the job' training and the completion of a portfolio of evidence to support an NVQ Diploma (or equivalent). Therefore, we're looking for someone who has a 'can-do' attitude, a flexible and proactive approach to tasks alongside a keen willingness to learn and the drive to succeed.
As our Engineering Apprentice, you'll have, or expect to achieve, five GCSEs (or equivalent) which must include English, Maths, and a Science at Grade C or above as well as two further GCSEs at Grade C or above. You'll also have a good standard of IT skills and/or Microsoft Office knowledge.
