Graduate Molecular Biologist
Applied Genomics are a south Devon based consultancy that develop and deliver DNA-based solutions for improving ecological assessments. Our environmental DNA (eDNA) analyses deliver data-driven insights for deeper due diligence and more meaningful risk intelligence for our client's environmental assessments. We have developed proprietary sampling methods which maximise the probability of eDNA capture and species detection, providing reliable and comprehensive biodiversity profiling. Our approach is cost-effective, non-invasive, rapid, scientifically robust and significantly enhances conventional methods, enabling ecological assessments with molecular accuracy.
Our team has extensive experience working across multiple industrial sectors. We provide eDNA services to quantify environmental pressures in:
- Aquaculture - environmental zone of effect monitoring
- Fisheries - monitoring fish species diversity & distributions
- Ports & Shipping - early detection of invasive non-native species
- Mining - monitoring effects of ground contamination and remediation
- Agriculture - characterisation of soil biodiversity
- Forestry - habitat analysis and disease monitoring
- Oil & Gas - bio-physico-chemical correspondence analysis
