Adelaide Care has been supporting people with learning disabilities for the last 11 years. We have a selection of residential care homes and supported living services across Hackney, Croydon, Crawley and Kent.
We employ 200 staff and support over 50 people with complex needs.
We provide support to meet the needs across a spectrum of conditions to include autism spectrum disorder, epilepsy, dementia, sensory impairments, profound and multiple learning disabilities, mental health diagnosis and behaviours that challenge the environment and society

Description of Vacancy
Are you looking for an opportunity where you can really make a difference?
We require an enthusiastic and dedicated support worker to join the team at this service in providing support for adults with learning disabilities and associated health needs.
The people we support are at the heart of everything we do – they are wonderful individuals and deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and choice. Our main priority, therefore, is to find support workers with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own.
Responsibilities
You will hold a range of responsibilities in this role and these include – but are not limited to – the following:
Provide physical support for day to day personal living care
General household duties including cooking, cleaning and money management
Work with other professionals to monitor, record and report health conditions
Provide emotional support and advocate for the needs of our service users
Support people with social activities and participate in employment meetings, sports, hobbies, walks in the park, bowling, swimming, cinema, places of worship and holidays
Ensure that safety, respect, dignity and confidentiality of service are maintained at all times.
Hours
30 hours per week, arranged on a shift basis.
Shifts will include a combination of any of seven days a week and twenty four hours a day.
Skills Required
The successful applicant should be a confident user of I.T to assist the process of recording support.
An existing understanding of first aid would be desirable.
Personal Qualities
The successful applicant should be honest and able to act in a professional manner at all time.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants should be aged 18+ and will be asked to complete a DBS check and provide two references prior to appointment.
Qualifications Required
Minimum grade D GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths.
Training Provided
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
