Ashford Oaks Community Primary School has 450 children ranging from nursery age through to Yr6. The Ethos of the school is to love the children while providing a fun and exciting curriculum.
Vacancy Description
We are looking for someone with a clear love for children to join our early years’ team. As an apprentice TA you will gain experience whilst studying towards your qualification in a setting keen to support you and your goals.
As an apprentice TA you will work as part of a team supporting our children at the beginning of their school life. There will be learning through play as well as more structured lessons. We are looking for someone who doesn’t mind getting down with the kids – literally! Such a fun opportunity to be able to sit down and paint, draw, play in sand/water, practice letter and number formation and most importantly interact with our lovely children.
Wage
Weekly wage £145.00
Hours
Monday to Friday 8.40am – 3.10pm
One day per week to finish at 1.30pm for study time
Weekly hours paid: 30
Term Time Only
Half an hour for lunch paid
Skills Required
A keen desire to help children learn from an early age by encouraging and nurturing them. Past experience would be desirable but as an apprentice we would not expect this.
Personal Qualities
Approachable, friendly, works well in a team and under pressure. A clear love of children.
Qualifications Required
We ask that the successful candidate has GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Training Provided
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework - consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
Additional Detail
As of 1st April 2019, the NMW for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
Important Information

Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
