What you will do in your working day
Our Software Development Apprenticeship is ideal for School Leavers that wish to pursue an IT/computing career and learn whilst earning at the same time. You will apply the technical skills that you learn in the classroom into the workplace and could work in a range of roles at CGI such as software development or testing. You can expect to study • Test-Driven Development • Object Oriented Programming • Web / Persistence and Recipes • JavaScript and Frontend Development • Software Projects
The training you will be getting
You'll study for a Level 4 qualification with our training provider, Makers Academy. You can expect to study a range of modules that will benefit your IT career! What's even better is this learning is complemented by on-the-job training on real projects at CGI. One of the best thing about joining us is that while you may start in one area, the opportunity to move internally is huge, so you can take control of your career from day one.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
At the end of your apprenticeship, you will have achieved a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Software Development. You have a permanent contract from day one so you continue to work for CGI after you have completed your apprenticeship. You'll also benefit from a competitive starting salary and all the support you need to succeed. We'll even provide the course resources and materials required!
