At EDF Energy, we’re big on supporting people as they set out on their career. Which is why we make sure that each trainee on our Technical Foundation Scheme has every opportunity to develop. Join us and you can expect to learn from real industry experts and gain comprehensive, hands-on experience. On the scheme, you’ll complete a Degree Apprenticeship and at the end of it all you can expect a promising future as a Technical Specialist or Engineer.
When you start the scheme you’ll have a choice of different technical business areas in which to specialise. It could seem overwhelming, but we’ll talk to you before you start and help you decide which one is best suited to your interests and career aspirations. Whatever your decision, as long as you show real commitment and determination, you can be sure you’ll be involved in critical tasks and projects from day one.
Each trainee will undertake different higher education studies aligned to individual specialism and ambitions. So each training scheme varies in length, depending on your needs, the course you choose and the area you work in.
Typically, scheme length varies between three and five years, but we’ll consider you to have completed the scheme once your education and experience mean you’re ready to move into a Technical Specialist or Engineer role. A Degree Apprenticeship will give you the academic and workplace skills needed for a great career at EDF Energy.
You’ll study a foundation degree initially, with the potential for progression onto a full degree. Whilst on the scheme, you’ll also benefit from plenty of support and real work experience within EDF Energy.
Throughout the scheme, you’ll balance comprehensive training and study whilst taking on a Trainee role. It’s a challenge, but we’ll help and support you in your development and career progression every step of the way – providing you with a structured career path within your chosen area. Where it could take you
Once you’ve completed the scheme, you’ll be a fully qualified Technical Specialist or Engineer with both academic qualifications and years of experience within EDF Energy. That means you’ll be in the best possible position to continue your career.
Your future will be yours for the taking, and because we’ll have helped you map out a structured career path, you’ll know exactly where you’re going and how to get there.
