You want an inclusive future
We’ll help you realise it

What's it all about

If you’re looking for a brighter future and are keen to take your first steps into the world of work, our apprenticeship programme is the place to make it happen. We’ll provide you with the chance to earn while you learn and avoid any University debt. You’ll also gain practical experience and develop professional networks while you work towards your qualification.

Our Higher Apprenticeship programme which lasts up to four years is designed to bring together a range of finance and commercial disciplines, with a balance of technical competence and intellectual and practical skills that will support you both as a learner and as future Finance professional.

You’ll be working on Finance deliverables from day one, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the teams you work with. You will have the opportunity to gain experience across different areas within the Finance team, building relationships that could impact the rest of your career. It’s the perfect place to learn the inner workings of one of the world’s leading banks and this new apprenticeship programme has been created to ensure that our apprentices develop the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours to succeed within the finance function.

In return, we will support you through your professional qualification – either CIMA certificate or ACCA knowledge modules, with the opportunity to progress to become a fully qualified accountant.

Where you’ll work

As a Finance apprentice, you are likely to be based in our head office in Milton Keynes. There will also be occasional travel between the Milton Keynes and central London sites and others as part of your role.

What we’re looking for in you

  • Achieved or been predicted a total of 104 UCAS points from the new UCAS scoring methodology (or 260 UCAS points pre 2017)
  • C or above in GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
  • A genuine interest in how Finance teams operate in the Banking Industry
  • A customer focused, analytical approach to work
  • A natural curiosity and a love of developing new skills and relationships
  • The confidence to speak up with great ideas, embrace change and seek innovative new ways of doing things

The Apprenticeship ultimately offers a permanent role with Santander and following graduation you will have opportunities to further develop your career within Finance across the business. Successful candidates will join the business in September 2018.
