McDonald's Management Degree Apprenticeship
The McDonald's Management Degree Apprenticeship lasts five years. It gives you the opportunity to follow a structured training programme, which leads to valuable qualifications, including:
- Hospitality Supervision Apprenticeship (level 3)
- BA (hons) Degree in Business Management (level 6)
- Chartered manager status with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
You will find yourself doing a huge variety of things, including working in the kitchen, front counter and drive-thru, but as you progress, you will also learn to take management decisions, get involved in rotas and recruitment, and keep an eye on budgets.
Although the programme has a duration of five years, you won’t stay at a junior level for the whole time. During your first year, you could be promoted to Shift Manager as you complete your level 3 apprenticeship.
If successful in your role and in passing the level 3 qualification, you will enrol on to the degree and find yourself advancing to Second and then First Assistant Manager. By the end of the programme, if you’ve impressed, you could even be a Business Manager, making real business decisions and running your own restaurant.
