IT DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP

SEPTEMBER 2018 INTAKE

HAVANT, HAMPSHIRE

Are you interested in technology and want to earn while you learn? Do you want to use your passion for IT and learn fantastic business skills to set the course of a FTSE100 company? Apply now for our IT Degree Apprenticeship and benefit from a degree without the tuition fees, a competitive salary and access to a wealth of IT knowledge from the employees at SSE that you will meet along the way.

As one of the UK & Ireland's largest and most diverse energy companies, we're always keen to identify great talent. We're looking for candidates with enthusiasm for IT to join our Programme.

Maybe you have more of an interest in technology than others seem to? And you want to make a difference in the work you do? Well, you've just found a programme worth saying yes to. It's not just a technical scheme; it’s more about learning how we use technology to support our business functions and also our customers. Our IT degree apprenticeship lasts for 4 years and firstly, you'll learn the role of IT in Business and how this can help to translate real business problems we face into usable IT solutions. After that, you'll have the opportunity to work in a whole host of different areas such as emerging technology, infrastructure support, system architecture and project management. Once you have had a taste of all of these areas of IT within SSE, we look at which you have excelled in and enjoyed the most so that you can spend your final 6 months on the programme gaining further experience in that area. On successful completion of our programme we would then look at your future career possibilities at SSE and where you would best fit. Plus, not forgetting you will have achieved a BA Honours in Digital and Technological Solutions from the University of Chichester which covers a broad range of learning including systems development, cyber security, project management and computer networking.

Ideally, you'll need to be on track to achieve three A2 Levels at grade C or above one of which should be an IT related subject. Alternatively we will accept an IT-related vocational qualification at the equivalent level. And whilst we don't expect you to know everything about IT, we do expect you to have a passion for technology, be keen to learn and someone that is ready to make the most of the opportunities and challenges that the apprenticeship provides.

In return for your hard work, we'll give you structured learning and a challenging development programme. You'll enjoy all sorts of benefits, rewards and perks – including a good salary, generous holiday entitlement and staff discounts, as well as a host of lifestyle benefits.
