Schroders

Asset management is all about making money work harder. And at Schroders, we excel at it. Over the last 200 years, our business has grown into 27 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East. We now employ over 3,500 people and manage £300+ billion of assets for institutional and retail investors, financial institutions and high net worth clients worldwide.

Our one-year, paid, school-leaver trainee programme is your chance to explore life at Schroders, the City, the finance industry and where you might take your career.

You’ll discover a business that’s defined by long-term thinking – not just for our clients and ourselves, but also for your future. And you’ll experience a culture that fuses calm confidence with plenty of energy and drive plus the absolute determination to do our best for our clients. It’ll be far from daunting though. While we’re large enough to be an international player, we’re also a friendly bunch who believe in collaboration, not competition. We’re here to bring out the best in you – and that’s what our traineeship is designed to do.

Structured and supportive, with dedicated training from internal and external experts, it sets you up for a long-term career in financial services and gives you the chance to gain a professional qualification. There’s a host of different areas you can join – from IT, Operations and Marketing to PR, Tax, Compliance, Risk Management and more.  Whichever team you’re part of, you’ll learn about all sides of our business while benefiting from hands-on experience doing work that matters. And as well as developing your technical understanding of asset management, you’ll sharpen the competencies and interpersonal skills that are essential whatever it is you decide to do next.

And that could be taking on a permanent role with us. Thanks to networking events and ‘lunch and learn’ sessions with colleagues from around the business, you’ll have built strong relationships within Schroders and a good understanding of the opportunities open to you. So you’ll have a clear idea of what your next step should be. If you do join us permanently, expect the learning and development to carry on throughout your career.
