Award Excellence and Technical Innovations

RSS Infrastructure was acknowledged by Network Rail and Rail Media for its work in driving excellence and innovation in several award categories such as safety, sustainability, community engagement as well as providing evidence on successful partnerships. This philosophy culminated in the organisation winning ‘SME of the Year’ at the Rail Partnership Awards 2018.

The commitment of the RSSI and Infra Skills workforce was recognised when we won the ‘Professional Services’ award at the Birmingham Post Business Awards. The businesses continue to deliver ground-breaking solutions providing a lasting legacy that is shaping the future landscape of the West Midlands.

RSSI received further recognition for its focus on leading technological innovations, and delivering increased levels of safety and productivity when presented with the ‘Safety and Security Excellence’ Award at the Rail Business Awards 2019.

These fundamental principles have led the way for a series of safety initiatives; including the Semi-Automatic Track Warning System, and the Rostering and Fatigue monitoring system which calculates the travel time to and from the site, shift duration and work type. The award application also included the Safe Driver Control Methods. We were one of the first companies in the rail sector to utilise a specialist Driver Awareness Warning System (DAWS) for the transportation of its workforce to site.
