Key responsibilities

As part of a team and under guidance from other supervisors, assisting in the identification of conduct risks in insurance firms and markets

• Taking part in meetings with firms' senior executives. Contributing to meeting preparation and accurately recording what was discussed
• Reviewing information provided by firms and other external sources to draw out and present key information
• Participating in projects when required
• Working across the department, division and other FCA areas.

The work will be both varied and challenging with an opportunity to interact with a range of firms. The apprentice will work as part of a supportive and collaborative team on high profile pieces of work that influence the behaviours of insurance firms. The apprentice will have the opportunity to participate in projects undertaken by the supervisory team.

Benefit to the apprentice:

The apprentice will assist in the supervision of the most important retail insurance providers in the UK market. Through this they will gain an understanding of insurers, the market as a whole, the conduct risks firms face and our approach to supervision. Additionally, the individual will:

• Participate in projects that cut across firms and address key issues

Training Provided:

As an Insurance Professional Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Insurance Professional Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship. Completion of the apprenticeship will result in the awarding of the CII Diploma (IF1/ IF2/ M05/ M92 and choice of M80/ M81/ M85).

The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face to face inductions and masterclasses.

Qualification Requirements:

Minimum of 2 A Levels at grade C in addition to 5 GCSEs at grade C including Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.

Future Prospects

Apprentices who successfully complete their professional qualification and apprenticeship programme will be considered for a permanent role within the FCA.
