Job Details

Duration of Apprenticeship: 18 Months

Job Description:

  • Complete daily reconciliation process for all nostro bank accounts
  • Ensure outstanding items are cleared regularly and aged items are kept to a minimum
  • Perform regular reconciliation of investment holdings with custodian
  • Complete regular reconciliation of internal control accounts, and follow-up with relevant colleagues to ensure outstanding items are cleared
  • Prepare aged item reports and commentary for committees
  • Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Documentation of procedures
  • Undertake cross-training to provide back up for other roles within Finance
  • Update daily FX rates in core banking system
  • To provide assistance to the Financial Controller and Head of Finance as required

Training Provided: 

As an Accounting Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Professional Accountancy Taxation Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship. Within the apprenticeship you will undertake the ACCA certificate level professional qualification.

The apprenticeship will be completed at a BPP centre or via the Online Classroom platform, in addition to at the workplace.

Qualification Requirements:

Minimum of 2 A Levels at grade C and 5 GCSEs at grade 4 including English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.

  • Microsoft Office – Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint • Finastra Equation
  • TARRAMIS
  • SAP Concur
  • E2Gen/Aqua

 

Essential:

 

  • Highly numerate and analytical with ability to interpret statistical information
  • Attention to detail and pride in work output
  • Intermediate user of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot tables) and Access
  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, team working and organisational skills

  • Experience of working in a finance department or finance-related role of a Bank
  • Bank account reconciliations experience
