QA Ltd are partnered with an IT Support Company (Johnnie Johnson Housing Ltd) situated in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. 

Overview: 

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and experience working as an ICT Service Desk Apprentice. You will be enrolled on Azure Cloud Support Specialist Level 3. 

At successful completion, you will earn the Information Communications Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship. 

As part of the ICT Support Team, you will provide technical IT support to all JJH users over the phone, remotely and onsite, liaising with internal colleagues and external suppliers whilst maintaining excellent customer care. 

The role features many aspects of IT including hardware, software and end-user support. Speaking to customers initially to discuss the problem before remotely accessing their computer to diagnose and remedy the issue. If the problem cannot be resolved remotely or requires escalation, then this will either be assigned to the appropriate team, or a site visit will be scheduled. 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Provide 1st line technical support via telephone, email and face to face between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs using a shift system.
  • Install, image and configure laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, peripherals and network equipment.
  • Assist with ICT projects as and when required.
  • To meet all learning commitments of the apprenticeship.
  • The timely and accurate logging of customer issues into the call management system.
  • Prioritisation and assignment of new support tickets.
  • Coordinate asset and inventory management, including checks and audits adhering to JJH’s standards and processes.
  • Create and update technical documents and knowledge-based articles.
  • Provide support for and ensure that the key business systems and applications are kept always running

You will need to occasionally travel to different JJH’s premises/locations as and when required showing flexibility with working times.

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject 

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. 

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Salary:

£14,500 per annum.

Working week:

Monday to Friday, 8am - 6pm (subject to change)

  • 35-hour working week (full time)

Future prospects:

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
