About the role
In order to achieve our strategy, capable and committed people working together, we have a programme HR team who are responsible for facilitating business focused solutions in support of the overall business strategy; a functional HR team that supports the delivery of the people capability, commitment and operational strategies; and specialist teams that deliver services to line managers and employees, such as Training, Recruitment, Pensions, Early Careers and Employment Law Advice.
About the scheme
The Human Resources (HR) scheme is a three year scheme, during which Higher Apprentices move around the HR function on three to six month placements. The HR Higher Apprentice scheme enables participants to gain experience in the following areas:
- Managing employee cases
- Learning and Development
- Organisation design and change management
- Business partnering
- Employee communications and trade union consultation and negotiation
- Specialist areas such as reward, employee relations, HR systems, performance and talent management
- Recruitment and resourcing
The scheme comprises of structured placements across the different teams within HR, which helps Higher Apprentices build a portfolio of experience towards becoming a HR professional.
What you’ll need
To apply for the Human Resources HA Scheme, you’ll require 3 A-levels grade A*-C (or equivalent), excluding General Studies.
All applicants will be expected to be medically fit as deemed necessary to perform the role, be eligible to work in the UK and be able to successfully achieve security clearance. The focus of the Human Resources HA Scheme is on the development of the individual. You will be fully funded by the company to achieve a relevant level 4 qualification.
You’ll also have the opportunity to learn from colleagues who are experts in their field, and gain insights that can only come from real world experience.
You will also be expected to take part in ‘Stretch Assignments’ these are opportunities to be involved in a variety of charitable and promotional projects to develop skills in addition to those that can be learned through college\placements.
