The IM&T HA Trainee scheme is designed to develop A-level (or equivalent) qualified people to become our IT professionals of the future.
About the scheme
The scheme is designed to provide you with a broad knowledge of the IM&T, through 3 – 6 month placements throughout the IM&T function and the wider business. The IM&T scheme helps provide it’s trainees with the chance of working on real, live projects in a mature environment.
You'll be joining Submarines — the part of BAE Systems that has been tasked with turning Britain's future defence ambitions into reality. We're the people who are building the next generation of submarines for the Royal Navy.
What you’ll need
To apply for the IM&T HA Trainee Scheme, you’ll require a minimum of three A-levels (or equivalent) at grade A* - C, excluding general studies. Qualifications aside, excellent teamwork, organisation and communication skills are essential to the role as you would be expected to liaise with all levels within the business and deal with external customers as required. Applicants will be expected to be medically fit as deemed necessary to perform the role, be eligible to work in the UK and be able to successfully achieve security clearance. The focus of the IM&T HA Trainee Scheme is on the development of the individual. You will be fully funded by the company to study part time to achieve a DipHE in Business Entrepreneurship and Computing Innovations. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn from colleagues who are experts in their field, and gain insights that can only come from experience in the workplace. You will also be expected to take part in ‘Stretch Assignments’ these are opportunities to be involved in a variety of charitable and promotional projects to develop additional skills to those that can be learnt through college\placements.

The selection process is made up of five stages:
