What will the apprentice be doing?

As part of your Apprenticeship, you will:

•Be given the opportunity attain an IMechE-accredited Honours Degree (BEng Hons) in Mechanical Engineering [Manufacturing Engineering] while working closely with experienced Manufacturing & Project Engineers that are based within the Operations team.

•Work within our well-defined New Product Development (NPD) process, with particular focus on the industrialisation aspects, working alongside other business functions who will actively support you and ensure that the products & systems seamlessly transition from design through to manufacture and ultimately being delivered to a customer.

•Gain knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes used to produce our current & future products.

•Develop skills in the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques for new & existing production processes & lines.

•Gain knowledge of the latest standards and regulations that affect the manufacture of our products and how they can be effectively interpreted into the production line designs.

•Receive an understanding of the process of identifying key risks pertaining to the safety, quality and reliability of production processes and where necessary work alongside colleagues across the business to put in place controls as mitigation.

•Be offered the opportunity to work with likeminded, hardworking, and passionate people to drive production efficiencies & ensure products are manufactured to the correct standard, cost & timescale.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The successful Apprentices will complete Level 6 apprenticeship over 5-years and be expected to attend The University of Central Lancashire on a day-release basis and complete all work required for the qualification to agreed timescales:
