What will the apprentice be doing?
The Apprentice Operations Chemist will join the polymer manufacturing team based in our Leeds site and learn a variety of chemical production processes and test methods.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The Apprentice Operations Chemist will complete a part time BSc Apprenticeship in Chemistry at the University of Bradford. This will incorporate 1 day per week for online academic study and a 2 week practical class on campus at Bradford over the summer.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On successful completion of the course the candidate will be offered a full time permanent position as an Operations Chemist.

Things to consider
You must ensure you have suitable arrangements for travelling to work. The apprenticeship will take 48 months to complete .

- Hands-on polymer manufacturing (synthesis and purification).
- Cleaning, preparation and calibration of glassware, reagents and equipment.
- Assisting with the optimisation, scale-up and process validation of new or existing manufacturing equipment or processes.
- Hands-on assistance with any other Operations duties associated elsewhere within the manufacturing facility (cleaning, manufacturing, packaging).
