Electronic Product Development Apprentice

In your role, you will gain experience in:

• Using 3D CAD software to modify and design Printed Circuit Modules
• Programming SMT Pick and Place machines and using them to build Printed Circuit Modules
• Building electronic assemblies
• Programming electronic assemblies and systems
• Testing and fault finding prototype Printed Circuit Modules
• Design and quality management processes
• Printed Circuit Module production processes
• Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing
• Principles and practical experience of modifying and designing electronic circuits
• Providing technical support for production and other areas of the company
• Using 2D and 3D design packages to understand product design and how it impacts PCM design
• Writing/modifying software for testing Printed Circuit Modules

Desired qualifications

English and maths grade 4/C or above, A Level in maths,Science, Chemistry, Biology orComputer Science. Level 3 Electrical or Engineering based Qualifications.

• On completing your apprenticeship you will become a Development Technician with Product Development Department. Your progression within the company, both academic and business related, will be encouraged and fully supported

Things to consider

• This is a level 4 apprenticeship opportunity and you will gain academic qualifications via day release at the Black Country and Marches Institute of Technology with Dudley College, (DY1 4AL), working towards the HNC Engineering as part of the Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Standard
