What will the apprentice be doing?

You will learn something new every day, supported by a team. As a trusted member of the team, you will gain experience in all activities of the site, developing skills and achieving learning objectives so that you can support managers to operate the site effectively by the end of your 3 year programme. Experience will be gained in all activities from product quality control, site maintenance, health and safety compliance, concrete production, batching processes and commercial training.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will gain experience and relevant qualifications in operational aspects of our business alongside blended learning delivered by The University of Derby. Supported by a mentor and your line manager you will 'earn while you learn' by completing a higher apprenticeship mineral products technician level 5 and university diploma in mineral products technology over 3 years while working on site in your day to day role. Option to do a two year top up to a BSc Hons degree upon completion

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

From year four onwards you could progress to a supervisory role whilst studying towards a full honours degree in mineral extractives over an additional two year period. GCSE or equivalent 5 subjects including Maths, English and Science (Grade 4 (C) or above) Essential

Other UK Driving Licence (Grade Full or in progress by Aug 22) Essential

Things to consider

Full UK Driver's license required by the start of your programme due to location of our various sites. You must be willing and able to relocate at any stage during the programme to benefit from the opportunities on offer.
