What will the apprentice be doing?

During your apprenticeship you will learn how to support the site management team in co-ordinating trades, labour and materials to meet the programme of the development. You will be expected to support the site management team to ensure the highest levels of Health and Safety, Quality and Customer Service are maintained at all times on the development. During this time you will develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours and will have regular reviews with your mentor. Some of the tasks that you will assist with during your apprenticeship are:

· Maintaining and updating of site documentation

· Ordering of materials for the development

· Reporting and control of progress on the development

· Maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety

· Checking the quality of subcontractors work

· Ensuring that we offer the highest standards of Customer Service

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

All of the training for your apprenticeship will be completed through online sessions and these will be delivered by the NHBC. You will cover modules that directly link to the knowledge, skills and behaviours identified in the Apprenticeship Standard. You will also work towards an NVQ4 in Site Supervision to evidence your competency in the workplace. Finally, after successfully completing your end-point assessment, you will gain your Level 4 Site Supervision Apprenticeship Standard.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After completing your apprenticeship, you may choose to progress on to a higher level qualification to further develop your skills and knowledge. Alternatively, you may choose to become an Assistant Site Manager in one of our site management teams for a period of time to develop your experience within the role.

Things to consider

As an Apprentice Assistant Site Manager, you will be expected to work on site during all weather conditions, but you will be provided with suitable clothing and protection. Due to the nature of construction, you may be asked to travel to a different development. You will be expected to hold a CSCS card to work with Persimmon Homes.
