What will the apprentice be doing?
Data analysts are typically involved with managing, cleansing, abstracting and aggregating data, and conducting a range of analytical studies on that data. Also, documenting and reporting the results of data analysis activities. Required to have a good understanding of data structures, database systems and procedures and the range of analytical tools used to undertake a range of different types of analyses.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 4 Data Analyst Higher Apprenticeship at New College Durham.

You will learn an understanding of data protection and the law, how to apply analytical techniques for data visualisation and presentation, how to identify and assess data quality issues, using industry standard tools and methods, identify, collect and migrate data from internal and external systems and working with organisational data architecture.

Additional in-house training and mentoring support with the possibility of further education and training in Astrophysics and Space Policy and Law.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Supporting sustainable space operations is a developing field and NORSS the UK leader. We aim to develop a creative further training and education programme to further develop the apprentice including the potential for Astrophysics at Durham University, and, Space Law and Policy at Northumbria University. Additionally, the apprenticeship has the potential for some funded travel in the UK and abroad.
