Job Details
Duties
• Deal with simple and routine enquires from internal and external customers in a professional manner, following established procedures, referring complex enquires to relevant staff members, ensuring all relevant facts and information needed is recorded and passed on
• Undertake a variety of routine human resource administrative, facilities and health & safety duties to support the team and department
• Update administrative systems with basic information
• Take an active role in the team supporting team objectives and other team members
• To assist the facilities team with the security of the premises, with regard to locking and unlocking, checking security alarm systems and carrying out security checks as necessary.
• Heating responsibilities include the operation and routine checks of the heating control panel/systems.
• Maintenance duties include general handyperson repairs to furniture and fabric, reporting when more major repairs are required, directing workmen and contractors
Specific Duties
• to provide support for the organisation and set up of events i.e. interviews. Escorting visitors and contractors around the School
• ensure the regular filing and retrieval of correspondence and records;
• assisting with room moves and furniture and equipment removals.
• undertake photocopying duties
• updating of records using databases, spreadsheets and specialised software.
• to take notes at meetings as and when required.

• Ensure standard guidelines and procedures are adhered to.
• To perform work-related tasks to be assessed by the apprenticeship training provider
• Perform other duties occasionally which are not included above, but which will be consistent with the role
Requirements
Skills
1. A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grade A* to C including Maths and English
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
2. Experience of using common office IT packages (e.g. MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
Customer Service, Communication and Team Working
3. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of people, both in writing and verbally.
4. Ability to clearly record information to pass on to others
5. Ability to work as an effective team member
Planning, Analysis and Problem Solving
6. Ability to work efficiently and accurately, and be able to meet deadlines
7. Ability to solve common problems using established procedures and practices

Who can apply?

ALS eligibility
Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:
- you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
- you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject
What are the benefits?
How much will I be paid?
You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500.
You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
