About the apprenticeship

Duties

esponsibility for general and project administration, assisting Project Managers with organising meetings, completion reports, taking minutes of working groups, contractor progress meetings and monthly governance meetings to ensure projects are delivered to time, cost and quality
• Assisting with all project related communication by distributing posters / leaflets, advising customers of planned work and providing information to internal comms and social media teams, Facilities Management and Network Rail (NR) planned works to ensure all stakeholders are informed of TfW's activity.
• Managing the O&M / hand back process, liaising with contractors for O&M submissions, undertaking an initial review and maintenance of the O&M manuals. Monitor and highlight WPP tracker to ensure compliance to CP7003, Control of Contractors. Manage buried services requests. Issue Site Access Permits and managing the site access database and contractor monitoring.

• Most of our apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 16 and there's no upper age limit. Please note that for safety critical roles the minimum age will be higher.
• You must not already be in full time education at the point of the apprenticeship start date.
• You must not have already achieved a similar or higher-level qualification in the apprenticeship role you have applied for. For example, if you have a degree in Engineering, you will not be eligible to apply for an Engineering apprenticeship. However, you could apply for another apprenticeship in a different profession, such as Finance.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply you:

  • will be at least 16 years of age at the time of making your application
  • will not be in full-time education (you can apply while still attending school/college/university but will have finished or intend to finish your studies by the time your apprenticeship starts)
  • will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.

ALS eligibility

Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:

  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject

What are the benefits?  

How much will I be paid?

You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500. 

You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
