What will the apprentice be doing?
  • The apprentice will work alongside and experienced sports coach to deliver curriculum PE for 2 afternoons a week.
  • The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the head teacher to deliver forest schools once a week with a focus on supporting pupils to be risk aware, resilient and independent.
  • The school is part of the local schools' sports partnership so there will be opportunity to lead and support inter-school events and to develop a programme of intra-school events annually. In addition, there is regular training via this group available.
  • Working with current staff the apprentice will take responsibility for developing an active lunchtime offer and supporting/ developing the schools' after school provision.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
  • L4 Apprenticeship Standard in Sports Coach
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths (if required)

End-Point Assessment (EPA):
  • Work based project and presentation with questioning
  • Practical observation with questioning
  • Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio

Delivery Method
  • You will need to be able to attend a training course at Loughborough College starting on Monday 1st August 2022 for 3 weeks Monday to Friday. (Please ensure you are able to travel before applying)
  • Online portfolio to update with learning and development completed onsite
  • Diarised visits from dedicated Trainer/Assessor
  • Attendance to Loughborough College for Functional Skills (if required)
