What will the apprentice be doing?

• Works with colleagues and clients/users in specifying information flows, processes/procedures, and data objects that will meet the business requirements.
• Works with colleagues and clients/users to investigate operational issues, problems, and new opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes/procedures, organisation,
and equipment. Assists in the analysis of the underlying issues arising from investigations.

• Assists in defining and justifying (in business terms) initiatives to develop/implement automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes.
• Records work with appropriate documentation, meeting the required standards and uses suitable methods and tools.
• Arranges, prepares, and facilitates client/user's meetings and presents issues and solutions both orally and in writing.
• Assists clients/users in producing clearly defined acceptance tests for automated systems.
• Contributes to briefings and presentations about their relevance and potential value to the organisation.
• Elicits requirements from operational management and other stakeholders.
• Post holders are required to familiarise themselves with the University's Equality and Diversity policies and to actively support these wherever possible.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the IT Services Values. Display the appropriate behaviours to ensure the identified values are at the core of everything that is done.
• Be aware of and work within the constraints of the University Health and Safety, Data Protection, and Confidentiality policies, bringing to the attention of management any issues arising.
• Actively work to ensure knowledge sharing amongst colleagues to avoid single point of failure.
• Information Acquisition - Identifying gaps in the available information required to understand a problem or situation and devising means of remedying such gaps.
• To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time commensurate with the level of responsibility of the role.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Data Analyst Level 4
20% of your working week will be dedicated to apprenticeship study

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Grade: Grade 3 progressing to Grade 5 on successful completion of the Professional Learning Programme over three years.

Starting salary: £21,686
£27,924 p.a. (On successful completion of the Professional Learning Programme over three years.)

Full time permanent position.
