GAP Homeline in Aberdare, is offering several apprenticeships within our manufacturing, production, and engineering departments, throughout your apprenticeship you will be trained in a number of manufacturing and production processes. You will be taught and developed by some of the best in the business, gaining first-hand knowledge whilst working as an integral part of the team. You will be given practical hands-on experience from day one. The position will provide you with a broad manufacturing and production background, together with an appreciation of extrusion, materials, tooling, and testing. Due to the nature of the role, every day will present a different challenge and boredom will never be an issue.
Future prospects:
The position is offered for the duration of two years, the successful apprentice will be provided with training and development during this period. This will include studying for a level 3 Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacturing. The learner will be released to college one day a week to complete their technical certificate, along with completing a level 3 NVQ in the workplace.
Typical tasks you will undertake and be trained in may include:
Working as an integral part of the team to help it achieve its objectives, and implement the production plan on the extrusion lines whiles maintaining quality standards and timely manufacturing support.
Undertake projects to reduce the usage of materials and to improve machine efficiencies, organising and carrying out tool changes as set out on the production plan.
Responsible for producing products to the agreed quality standards
Completing quality checks and recording results in addition to the continual visual monitoring of all products being manufactured.
Ensuring that all work undertaken is carried out in a safe manner not to endanger the individual or any others.
Maintain housekeeping standards of all machines and areas of responsibility.
Candidate requirements:
Minimum of 4 GSCE s, including Maths and English (grade A-C).
Good literacy and numeracy are both essential
It is essential that you can work well in a team and possess good communication / interpersonal skills.
