About the apprenticeship


As a Service Administration Apprentice, you will be working as part of our service support team. The role involves providing first line support for customers within our dynamic service department.

Our service administrators will provide a high level of customer support which is key to our success and future growth of our business.

Additional information

This is a fast-paced job, so the right candidate should enjoy being in a busy environment and be able to react to the daily challenges and inevitable curve balls that crop up.

This role requires an organised, self-motivated, customer focused person with a high level of attention to detail and remains calm under pressure.

We'll provide you with the training needed, and in time, you will be able to manage and support our team of mobile engineers and deliver outstanding customer service to our valued customers and grow to become a key member within our business with excellent career progression opportunities.



On a day-to-day basis this is what you would be doing:
• Responding to a high volume of customer calls including breakdowns and hire requests.
• High quality administration support to internal departments, mobile engineers and customers.
• Respond efficiently to all customer enquires
• Update customer records
• Co-ordinate mobile engineers and offer job support
• Provide and progress chase quotations to customers as required


Minimum 6 GCSE grade C to include English, Maths and IT.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply you:

  • will be at least 16 years of age at the time of making your application
  • will not be in full-time education (you can apply while still attending school/college/university but will have finished or intend to finish your studies by the time your apprenticeship starts)
  • will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.

ALS eligibility

Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:

  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject

What are the benefits?  

How much will I be paid?

You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500. 

You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
