Our Apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to train primarily as an Engineering Technician but with the option to progress into Site Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Buying or Estimating. You will be given the opportunity to work alongside and assist qualified professionals in these roles to really gain an understanding of each of the career paths available to you. Join us as an apprentice and after 27 months you'll gain a nationally recognised qualification ready to begin your career in one of the most exciting industries around!

As an Engineering Technician what can I expect to be doing?

You will have hands on experience from day one and will receive on-going training and support to enable you to play an important role in our site team.

On a daily basis you will assist to instruct our skilled workforce, maintain diaries of site activities and ensure works are carried out safely to the company's Health and Safety procedures.

One of your primary roles will be setting out on site and communicating this information to our skilled employees. Setting out is carried out using specialist equipment and can be described as the reverse of surveying. While surveying is the process of creating maps and plans of a site or area, setting out starts with plans and ends with them being turned into reality on site. You will develop the fundamental skill of taking the information from the plans and turning it into useable information for setting out.

Construction Engineering is a professional discipline that deals with thedesigning,planning, management andconstructionof projects such as stadiums, commercial buildings and houses.

Careers available in the construction industry include Engineers, Planners, Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to name a few.

What does a Construction Engineer do?

Engineers are construction professionals who make up site supervisory and management teams with most Engineers working predominantly outdoors.

Engineers turn plans into reality and are responsible for ensuring that projects are completed to a high quality and within the given time frame. Engineers play an important role in managing health and safety on sites, as well looking after the environment.

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above or equivalent is preferred.
  • A Level or equivalent
  • full driving licence desirable but not essential

Future prospects

Following completion of Level 4 Apprenticeship

·Option 1 - progress onto higher level apprenticeship

·Option 2 - continue role full-time within the business
