Main Tasks

The apprentice will be working with qualified engineers to test a huge variety of prototype electrical and electronic equipment. Mainly automotive components (lights, air con control, engine management etc.) to ensure they are fit for purpose and do function as designed within the vehicle environment.

Setting up the test, including the system under test as well as the in house test equipment.

Running the test either manually (using test instrumentation) or automatically using the in house test software.
Reporting the results.

Key skills and Qualities

Attention to detail, willing to learn, able to listen!
Ability to use a PC, (word and excel). Good communicator

Previous qualifications

Minimum of Maths and English Grade C
Full BTEC Level 2 qualification in Engineering

Training

Full training on all aspects given.
Mentoring and supervision at all times until internally signed off as competent within our quality system.
Level 3 Apprenticeship in Engineering Technical Support
Functional Skills, PLTS & ERR

Wage and Hours

£12,000 pa rising to £15000 pa after 6 months if all training is satisfactory
37.5 hrs (8.45am – 5pm, 45mins lunch)
