What will the apprentice be doing?
The position will involve supporting the Internal Audit team with the administration of audit projects, and assisting with internal audit fieldwork, reviewing exposure to risk and the effectiveness of controls in place. This will include both desk-based work and visits to other teams and services to undertake audit work, working independently but with the support and under the direction of a Senior Auditor / Audit Manager. You will therefore be a good communicator and demonstrate strong analytical and research skills, producing accurate work with good attention to detail.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will undertake the L4 Internal Audit Practitioner apprenticeship which includes undertaking the IIA Certificate, at the outset you can apply for membership of the Chartered IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) and on completion of the IIA Certificate you will obtain IACert designation.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon completion of this apprenticeship there may be potential for application for full time roles within the Councul if the opportunity os present, but this is not guarenteed. Once qualified learners will be able to apply and seek qualified Auditor roles within the industry.
