This is a varied role that will include all aspects of caring for children, ensuring their wellbeing, happiness and development whilst attending our nursery.
Duties are likely to include:
- Supervising play
- Helping at mealtimes
- Assisting with hygiene
- Devising activities and progressing children to get them ready for their next steps.
The role will evolve as you progress through your apprenticeship and you will be fully supported in the workplace to complete your apprenticeship.

You should have a passion for early years development, be able to work effectively in a team and have an understanding of the responsibilities that come with working in early years education.Personal qualities

You will ideally have GCSE Maths & English grade 4/C or above.
To study towards a level 3 qualification you should have achieved a relevant level 2 qualification and/or have experience.Future prospects

Please consider how you will get to work each day, the Cheddleton setting is located on the main road close to a bus stop with regular service (No. 16). The Leek setting is within walking distance of the town center and bus station.
You will attend college every 6 weeks with virtualand workplace visits in between.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £4.30 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £6.45 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.70 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
