What will the apprentice be doing?
1. Develop and maintain live programmes for all blocks as required
2. Develop and maintain design programme with technical department and consultants as appropriate
3. Works closely with commercial department to ensure all procurement and contract management is tied to programme and easily traceable
a. To ensure procurement programmes and contract sections and schedules are accurate
b. Assess sub-contractor tender programmes for compliance and report on best returns
c. To monitor progress and forecast delay impacts as appropriate
d. To advise surveyors where liability for delay lays within packages
4. Provide data from the live programme to construction team
a. Regular look ahead and short term programme extracts to assist site management of work
b. Produce mitigation programmes if in delay
c. Assist, procure and collate sub-contract programmes to feed into live programme
d. Work with logistics contractor to produce regular time slices to assist site management
e. Walk the site regularly with and without site managers to ensure a firm understanding of progress and to facilitate drop line for progress
5. Provide data for weekly progress summary dashboard
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will be studying towards a Construction Management degree on a day release basis with London SouthBank University at the Southwark campus near the Elephant & Castle.
On our apprenticeship programme you will have full exposure to the business on departmental rotations, CPD training and some social events to ensure you get to know your colleagues as quickly as possible.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On completion of the training you will be promoted to Project Planner and have the opportunity to continue studying for your MSc or MCIOB. Your career journey is endless with Berkeley St Edward!
