We are very excited to announce the eagerly awaited re-opening of our beautiful restaurant and pub, The Muddy Duck in Hethe, Bicester.

We are on the hunt for an experienced, dynamic, confident and inspiring Commis Chef Apprentice to join our chef brigade at our highly regarded pub/restaurant working closely with one of the most respected names in the restaurant world, Pierre Koffmann.

In 1977 Pierre opened his first restaurant, La Tante Claire, in Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea. Within six years they had achieved the maximum accolade you can receive in the culinary world, making him one of only a few chefs in the United Kingdom to have done so.

The number of Britain s top chefs who have trained under Pierre Koffmann is truly incredible - Tom Aikens, Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White, Jason Atherton and more recently, Ben Murphy and Luciano Pierre White, to name but a few. His prot??g??s are now regarded as some of the best chefs in the kitchens of the country.

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef Apprentice to be part of our exciting new Muddy Duck Chef team.
As a Commis Chef Apprentice, your responsibilities will include:

Working closely with the Head Chef and Chef brigade, following recipe specifications;
To clearly label and rotate stock including allergen information;
To ensure that the food produced is of the highest possible standard;
Working in an organised manner and cleaning as you go. All areas are to be maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness at all times;
To ensure that all food is prepared within the dedicated time frame;
To help with stock management, cleaning fridges, rotating stock and stock counting;
Producing dishes using correct measurements/portion sizes according to dish specifications;
Follow food preparation guidelines meeting The Muddy Duck requirements;
Dealing with the receipt and storing of deliveries;
To always be dressed in the correct PPE for the working environment.

You will need to be top of your game all day, every day in an often-pressurised environment, be able to demonstrate initiative, balance your skills between kitchen departments, superb customer service and getting-stuck-in style teamwork and have a penchant for the detail.
