Full Time

£15,000 per annum, increasing to £!5,500 after successful completion of probationary period

As a Trainee Support Officer, we will invest in your learning and development by offering you the opportunity to study towards a qualification relevant to your role and experience.  In return, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred support to customers, in line with agreed plans and risk assessments. You will be fully supported in this role, working alongside experienced Support Officers to help you achieve the requirements of the role.  You’ll be working towards performance targets to support your development, and be expected to deliver customer satisfaction, while preparing them to move onto settled accommodation

More about the role of a Trainee Support Worker:

  • You will work to complete a minimum of a Level 2 apprenticeship, relevant to the client base you will be working with, within two years.
  • Under supervision, you will assess referrals and engage with prospective clients using a person-centered approach. The key to this role will be liaising with health professionals, other agencies and colleagues as appropriate.
  • Under supervision, you will agree and review client Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments on a regular basis, deliver contracted hours of support to achieve the required outcomes.
  • You will flexibly deliver the support identified in an Independent Living Plan through regular person-centered contact as appropriate, taking follow up action and coordinating wraparound support if required from other agencies (for example Adult Social Care, Criminal Justice, Health services) and internal departments.
  • Under supervision, you will report any concerns relating to safeguarding of vulnerable people using the correct procedures, attending case conferences and other meetings as required.

What we expect from you as a Trainee Support Officer:

  • GCSE level or equivalent in Maths & English (at least Grade C / Level 4) or a willingness to undertake Level 1 functional skills in Maths & English.
  • Willingness to undertake professional development including Level 2 apprenticeship within two years, relevant to the client base you will be working with.
  • Good level of computer literacy; ability to utilise / learn Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet to maximise the efficient use of resources.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a variety of people including customers, staff, and other agencies.

Desirable

  • Experience of a Customer facing role or similar
  • Full UK clean driving license
