What will the apprentice be doing?
You will be an assistant coach helping out in classes which run for 45mins. You will learn how to plan and prep for a class and how to deliver skills in a fun and engaging way. The more creative you are the easier it will be to bring your classes to life! We are not just a bag of balls program and expect children to kick and throw a ball for 45 mins, our classes are made up of 5 different skills and always in an a fun game. You will need lots of energy, a love for working with children and a good level of fitness/interest in sport. Classes are most run during the morning but also include after school and Sunday mornings across a number of different venues so access to your own transport is key.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The programme will consist of online training, webinars, practical workshops and workplace visits from a tutor.
The qualifications you will achieve will be a level 2 coaching qualification if required and a Level 4 sports coach apprenticeship standard.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Full time position, further training and progression available.
