What will the apprentice be doing?
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage and gain valuable work experience.
You will work towards the Quality Practitioner Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group.
As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills . Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once completing this apprenticeship, it is expected that this person will then become a Quality Engineer.
There is a structure in place to progress through the quality and business improvement team to continue to develop employees. Courses for development could include: Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, Internal Auditor, Lead Auditor, Further Engineering Specific Courses. Gain Chartered Quality Institute status.

Things to consider
This role will be office based but with a lot of interaction on the factory floor for conducting audits and problem investigations.
- Structured Problem Investigation and Resolution (8D Quality investigations, Investigating Non-conformance)
- Identifying Improvements (Value stream mapping)
- Compiling and reviewing quality statistics and taking relevant actions
- Internal and External Audits (Hosting, support and close out)
- Liaising with internal departments, customers and regulators
- Gaining/Maintaining accreditations
- Update of company documentation and quality management system
