What will the apprentice be doing?

Provide support to the Technical Team

Assist the Engineers and Engineering Manager with the procurement & checking of engineering drawings/details, services/supplier's enquiry letters, quotations.

Assist the Engineers and Engineering Manager with the commissioning and the appointment of external consultants (for site investigations, structural and civil services, topographical, environmental investigations and dilapidation surveys, flooding reports and transportation assessments, etc).

Attend meetings, monthly site meetings as required to review and assess progress and provide constructive and frequent feedback on project performance.

Ensure the timely distribution of all relevant drawings and technical information to Construction, Sales and Commercial to ensure production targets and budgets are achieved in accordance with the overall build programme.

Assist with resolving Engineering difficulties that arise, providing practical solutions to overcome.

Input and maintain computer-based databases, document issue register, and/or other data management/reporting systems.

Support the road and sewer adoption process.

Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with Commercial, Construction, Sales, and Land departments, building strong working relationships with all functions within the regional office.

Liaison with Consultants, Highway Authorities, Drainage Authorities, Flood Authorities and Warranty Providers such as the NHBC.

Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group's Health, Safety and Environment Policy.

At all times comply with responsibilities under the Company's Health and Safety and Environmental Policies and all other company policies, procedures and instructions.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

A level 6 qualification. The apprentice would study the Civil Engineer Degree Apprenticeship, this is a full BEng (Hons) qualification and fully satisfies the educational base for an Incorporated Engineer (IEng).

The apprenticeship incorporates part-time day release with on-campus teaching at the University of Derby and online delivery through the University of Derby Online Learning (UDOL).

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

This would provide a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable practical engineering experience in assisting the Technical Team with site infrastructure matters from initial land identification through the pre-development, planning, construction, sales, and final estate completion/adoption stages.
