Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Learning and Development Centre at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking applications from enthusiastic individuals who are keen to work in this varied and fast paced environment, supporting the staff of Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Apprenticeship Business Administration Level 3 Fixed term for up to 24 months.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties and responsibilities
  • Trust Induction
    • To support the delivery of corporate induction including the, provision of registers, recording attendance and liaising with other relevant departments.
    • To be the first point of contact for new starter queries.
  • Training Centre
    • Provide a friendly, helpful, and caring welcome for visitors to the Learning & Development Centre and for general enquiries.
    • Ensure the reception area and facilities are maintained to a professional standard bysupporting the setting up with appropriate equipment.
    • To be responsible for the monitoring the booking out of equipment / resources on loan from the Department and its return in working order.

    Main Duties and responsibilities

    1) Business Administration & LEAP Support

    To support the Core Skills Team with the administration of statutory and mandatory training, e.g. Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Basic Life Support, Moving & Handling, plus any other cores skills and development training. This may involve using the Trust Learning Management System (LEAP) to enter bookings, produce registers and update the system on completion of training.
    • To be responsible for the production of training materials, including handouts, registers and with the trainer/facilitator ensuring presentations and materials are up to date.
    • To undertake supporting activities for training, such as identifying dates, booking venues, and liaising with trainers regarding training activity.
    • To work with Quality Assurance & Evaluation in the processing of evaluation forms and the production of regular evaluation reports.
    • To deal with incoming post, and ensuring that outgoing post is prepared accurately and in a timely fashion for distribution each day.
    • To respond efficiently to enquiries received by telephone and in person from visitors in the department.
    • To assist with the maintenance of a comprehensive and easily retrievable filing system from completed registers, including uploading attendance onto LEAP ensuring that the compliance figures meet the defined Trust targets,
    • To arrange meetings, and co-ordinate activity of the training staff and trainers as requested by your line manager or another senior manager.

    • Support a continuous improvement mind set and a can do approach to ensure L&OD delivers value through its services.
    • Provide support for the development and implementation of L&D policies and processes across the Trust, specifically core skills programmes.
    • This role is required to operate between the hours of 08:00 hours and 17:30 hours Monday to Friday.

    Personal Development

    Undertake personal development activities as agreed with Core Skills & Resources Coordinator.

    Participate in the annual performance appraisal in line with the Trust policy.

    Training will be provided on site and the successful applicant will be required to work towards:
    • Level 3 Business Administration
    • Functional Skills Maths and English Level 2 ( if not already held)
