Do you want to work on the front line defending the Royal Air Force around the world? Does the idea of training and operating as a Force Protection Specialist excite you? Then you could be a Regiment Gunner in the Royal Air Force; expert in ground combat tactics, weapons, field craft and force protection.

As a Royal Air Force Regiment Gunner, you’ll perform a pivotal role: providing combat support to deployed  air operations anywhere in the world – fighting on the ground to ensure control of the air.

Once fully trained you will join a Royal Air Force Regiment Squadron, where you will train for and deploy on operations. A career in the Regiment is extremely varied, you could be employed as a member of a combat flight or a driver of an armoured vehicle, protecting the Royal Air Force at home or abroad. As the UK’s military experts in specialist Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear operations, you could be on call to support the Nation’s Emergency Services; or serve on the Queen’s Colour Squadron in a ceremonial role, mounting guard at Buckingham Palace or attending Military Tattoos around the world.

Not only this, but with the skills you acquire, there’s opportunity to specialise and progress your career further. You could be employed as a Forward Air Controller providing close air support to troops on the ground, train other Royal Air Force personnel in military defence and survival skills to allow them to operate in the field, qualify to become a paratrooper, a heavy weapons expert, or a sniper. Requirements
-Be aged 16 - 47 (Must attest before 48th birthday) Applications can be submitted from age 15yrs and 9 months.
-UK or Republic of Ireland citizen, dual UK nationality or Commonwealth citizen with 5yrs UK residency
-No formal qualifications required
-Health requirements: BMI and Eye sight checks
-Fitness requirements: 2km run, press-up and sit-ups, swim test, med ball throw and deadlift test.
-Commit minimum 3 years post Phase Two Training

Salary
First 6 months = £16,840+ + Benefits
After 6 months = £21420+ + Benefits
