Join us on our Fire & Security Engineering Technician Apprenticeship to install and maintain our fire and safety solutions across the UK. Work with relevant standards to ensure that our products are installed accurately and continue functioning for years to come. This programme will arm you with all the skills and knowledge you need to progress into an Install or Service Engineer role, specialising in either Fire or Security Systems!

While on this apprenticeship, you will work towards a Level 3 Fire Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship if based in either England or Wales.  For those roles based in Scotland you will work towards a Level 7 (SCQF) Electronic Security Systems apprenticeship qualification. We will release you from work for 1 week every 6 weeks in England or Wales, or day release for Scotland, to ensure you stay on top of your studying. These sessions may be based away from home, which would include overnight stays. Where this is the case, we will cover all accommodation costs to ensure there is no cost to you.

As an apprentice in our Fire & Security teams, your main responsibility will be to install our products in customer buildings and upkeep them year-round. Representing Chubb as a business, you will need to present yourself in a clean, efficient manner to maintain our excellent reputation. We’re looking for people to specialise in Fire and others in Security, so the tasks you could be doing may vary however, here’s an example of what you could take on:

  • Ensure all work follows the relevant environmental, health and safety standards
  • Maintain a high level of customer service at all times

The type of person we’re looking for...

As you may be working with customers regularly, it’s important that their needs are at the forefront of your mind and everything you do, as well as being able to communicate efficiently. Candidates will need a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade 4, including Maths and English (or equivalent) for England and Wales, for Scotland we will require National 5 qualifications at grade C or above. A full driving licence will be required by the end of your second year as you may be required to travel regularly. You should be willing to learn new things continuously, have a positive mentality and good timekeeping skills. Other skills we’re keen to see in a candidate include:

From the very first day of joining us, you’ll be on a starting salary of £13,103. Once you progress through to the second year, you could be earning £16,094 with a final year salary of £18,689. Each of our apprentices will get access to our rewards and benefits schemes, offering access to discount saving cards, cycle to work schemes and more.
