Job Details

Join us as a Service Technician Apprentice to build brand-new skills and experience to secure a bright future! Service fire extinguishers, which could be the only thing that stops a life-threatening fire, to protect our customers. By the end of the programme, you’ll have the foundation to start your career as a Fire Extinguisher Engineer.

As well as your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll train and study towards a Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship. We’ll release you from your work for one day a week, allowing you to spend valuable time developing your skills, either virtually or in person.   In addition, you will undergo industry relevant training and qualify as a Registered Fire Extinguisher Technician under the BAFE SP101 Scheme.

What your day will look like...

As an apprentice, your main responsibility will be to service portable fire extinguisher equipment to ensure they meet the relevant safety regulations and can still protect people against a fire. You could be planning activities or journeys to ensure we’re being efficient and offering the maximum amount of service time available. Other responsibilities you will take on include:

  • Identifying sales opportunities for the sales team to arrange delivery and service of equipment
  • Ensuring all work follows company processes and relevant environmental, health and safety standards.
  • Working with site partners to obtain sign off on the work you have completed
  • Keeping all administration tasks up to date and accurate

The type of person we’re looking for...

You’ll be working with customers day in, day out, so it’s important that you keep a positive approach, communicate effectively and have their best interests at heart. As you’ll work in several different environments, you’ll also need to be able to adapt quickly while still working to a high standard. Candidates should also have a minimum of GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent). A full driving licence is also desirable as you may be required to travel regularly. Other skills we’d like to see include:

  • Great teamwork
  • Willingness to learn
  • Forward-thinking

What you’ll get out of it...

When you join us, you’ll receive a starting salary from £13,103, with progression in year 2 up to £16,094 and final salaries landing at £18,689. Each of our apprentices will get access to our reward and benefits scheme, offering access to discount saving cards, cycle to work schemes and more. Apprentices can also enjoy more employee benefits, such as:

  • 25 days holiday
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Discounts and savings
