Are you interested in both tax and technology? Are you looking for a unique opportunity within the tax industry? Do you want to acquire a tax qualification whilst developing as a young professional?

GoSimpleTax is an award-winning software company based in Greater Manchester, producing cloud tax self-assessment, MTD for VAT bridging software and also currently developing their MTD for Income Tax model.

The Role

Working closely with the tax team in a mixed role from supporting users through a ticket system, shadowing the tax team when performing additional services such a tax reviews, identifying issues with the software and communicating with the in-house development (DEV) team, testing software updates and completing your Level 4 Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) qualification.

The job will consist of actioning support tickets sent in by users having issues with the software or requesting assistance with completing the tax return forms. As the software requires payment there may be situations arising where account management is needed. Any uncertainties can be discussed during the interview process.

You will be enrolled on the Level 4 ATT apprenticeship scheme where you will study towards full qualification. Study leave days will be granted where relevant and 20% of your time will consist of on the job learning.

Initially the role will be a hybrid format with some time in the Oldham office and the rest remote working, once settled you will have a more remote based role.

Experience

No previous tax experience required, however, willingness to learn is key. The right candidate will have an interest for both IT systems and maths/accounting whilst wanting to grow as a young professional.

Training Provided:

As an Accounting Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Professional Accountancy Taxation Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship. Within the apprenticeship you will undertake the ATT certificate level professional qualification.

The apprenticeship will be completed at a BPP centre or via the Online Classroom platform, in addition to at the workplace.

Apprenticeship: 18 months Job Role: Permanent

Qualifications Required:

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above
  • A Level at grade C or above in Maths, Accounting, IT or Business studies (desirable)

(or equivalent qualifications)

Future Prospects:

Opportunity to develop into a more senior role within the team.
