What will the apprentice be doing?

As an Associate Project Manager Apprentice, you will provide direct assistance in Agile software development projects and 'Scrum' activities across the full project lifecycle gradually increasing in responsibility and accountability for direct management of projects.

At Flooid you will help to deliver new and enhanced versions of the Company's products in line with the business vision for both internal and external customer delivery programs.

The Team:

Within the Software Delivery group, we have delivery, project and programme management skills and SCRUM Masters who work with our Engineering teams to provide Software Delivery scheduling, planning, and tracking.

We are responsible for the outputs of the Engineering teams. We lead the teams to drive delivery to our customers on time, in budget, to a great quality.

The Responsibilities:
  • To learn and assist with planning development and all related deliverables using a combination of Agile / Scrum methodology and traditional project management techniques, where necessary

Your responsibilities will gradually increase as you gain knowledge and experience.

In time you will:
  • Lead daily SCRUM meetings
  • Facilitate Sprint Planning, Review meetings and Retrospective meetings
  • Track and monitor team velocity
  • Support aspects of project development including development of project plans, resource plans, project governance, day to day management of the development team and control of releases to ensure delivery of projects on time, to budget and to customer expectation and satisfaction
  • Identifying and removing blockers for the team and ensure they are focused on delivery
  • Supporting with managing internal and external expectations, including supporting reporting on project status to customer and management
  • Helping the project team control financial aspects of the project
  • Supporting the production of development estimations
  • Working closely with other internal teams - including the product management team, the development management team, BAs, Strategic Project Managers and Product Owners

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
  • Level 4 Associate Project Management Standard
  • 8 Days courses to be attended with HOET
  • Functional skills in Maths and English if required

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

You will work towards Associate Project Manager - Level 4 - qualification with the aim of becoming a full time Project Manager at Flooid. Any successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop with the company.
