Are you interested in a career in Pharmacy?

Are you looking for a new challenge?

Then our exciting post could be just what you are looking for!

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team at Over Surgery in a new collaborative pharmacy technician training scheme between Primary and Community Care. You will undergo training within general practice (GP surgery) and rotate into a community pharmacy.

While working in both settings you will work alongside a dedicated team of pharmacy technicians, pharmacists and pharmacy support workers to gain experience in all aspects of the role of a GP practice and community-based pharmacy technician. Responsibilities will include dispensing medicines, preparing medication, ordering medicines, working as part of multidisciplinary teams dealing with patients and their medicinal needs, reviewing patients’ medicines, and liaising with other health care professionals to improve the care of the patients, audit and data collection and providing high quality service to patients at all times.

Skills required for this post include attention to detail, commitment to personal development and ability to work as part of a team. Good communication skills are essential. This is both a physically and mentally demanding role where you will need the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy.

The training program would be rotational with GP surgery and Over Healthcare Pharmacy next door hence offering great opportunity to gain insight into day to day working of the GP surgery and community pharmacy.

Upon appointment, successful candidates will complete a 2-year Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Apprenticeship with Buttercups Training, which will lead to eligibility to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician. You must be willing to commit to a significant amount of study in your own time.

The successful candidate will be expected to start in November 2022 on a fixed-term contract for 27 months.
