What will the apprentice be doing?

Over the course estimated at 24 months, you will combine learning opportunities with hands-on experience. 6 hours of your working week is committed to learning (including attending workshops, online learning, webinars, and shadowing). You will spend your remaining time supporting colleagues across the company with their learning and development (L&D) needs. In time, we will require you to design new programmes and deliver in-person training, virtual training, and e-learning, you will be encouraged to develop a broad range of skills. We deliver training on a wide range on subjects including English and maths, leadership skills, career development, team development and much more. This is a great opportunity to join a department who want to help you make the most of your developing knowledge, so you can feel confident that the team will help you achieve your long-term goals. You will also be required to assist with the marketing department to complete adhoc duties surrounding social media, call tracking and monitoring Checkatrade which will comprise of 20% of your role throughout the apprenticeship.

Duties/responsibilities:

  • To attend all apprenticeship training sessions when required.
  • Ensure all work assigned by your tutor is completed in a timely manner.
  • Use your digital skills to create and work on Excel spreadsheets, Power Point presentations, and e-learning
  • Support all L&D administration
  • Set up courses, sending course invitations (via Outlook and/or via Microsoft Teams), managing attendance, sending evaluations, running reports
  • Support the design and delivery of in person training, virtual training, and e-learning.
  • Organise/support events, such as induction for new starters, booking training spaces and manage the logistics.
  • Research new ideas and resources in the L&D field.
  • Write communication to promote L&D using different channels like SharePoint, teams, newsletters
  • Administer and update staff with information on courses and the L&D offer
  • Support the delivery and coordination of programmes such as our Apprenticeship offering
  • Identify and analyse learning needs
  • Understand the business context and culture
  • Consult with stakeholders to draw out relevant information and provide feedback to inform learning and training needs requirements.
  • Monitor and populate data in the marketing dashboard
  • Upload social media posts
  • Monitoring Checkatrade i.e. call and email conversions
  • Manage and monitor social media accounts i.e., complaints
  • Taking new starter photographs for staff and engineers

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Learning and Development Practitioner Level 3

Duration:
The length of this apprenticeship should typically be 18 - 24 months.

Entry Requirements:
Whilst any entry requirements will be a matter for individual employers, typically an apprentice will have an area of technical, vocational or behavioural expertise in which the organisation needs others to acquire through training.

Qualifications:
Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this prior to taking the end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeship’s English and maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3. British Sign Language qualifications are an alternative to English qualifications for those for whom this is their primary language.

The successful apprentice may be eligible to apply for Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or any other professional body that recognises this apprenticeship within its membership criteria (membership is subject to the professional bodies own membership requirements).

Level:
This is a Level 3 apprenticeship.
