Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for providing a welcoming and efficient service for Health Visiting This will include signposting services and the public, processing service user details using electronic systems, consulting with clinicians and colleagues to facilitate a smooth and response service for health visitor service users, clients and locality health visiting teams across the borough.

Key Responsibilities
  • iaise with health visitors, service users, children's services and Trust support staff in person, via telephone and email.
  • Demonstrate a caring and professional approach towards service users and the public when performing reception or clerical duties.
  • Escalate service user queries to health visiting teams or relevant clinical staff as appropriate.
  • Show a caring and professional approach towards service users and carers via telephone or face to face. This may require acting with resilience to deal with sometimes distressed service users in an empathic manner.
  • Clerical duties: maintaining accurate electronic filing systems, diary management, scanning clinical notes if required. Maintain patient information. Inputting patient data accurately and timely.


Main duties of the job

Professional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Check and update service user details. Open / close referals to Health Visiting service.


  • Type letters and arrange appointments for service users/ patients.


  • Input outcomes of appointments on Careflow, including those who did not attend on relevant patient administration system or other relevant computer systems in a timely and accurate manner according to Trust Policy.


  • Check incoming email inbox(s)


  • Take part in departmental audits and associated duties.


  • Attend training courses as required to support personal development and the needs of the service.
