Job summary

We are looking for a Level 3 Business Administration Assistant / Medical Typist Apprentice to join our Administration Team here at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup.

An apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity for you to explore the NHS and to being on a journey which will provide you with an exciting and fulfilling career pathway. As part of the apprenticeship scheme you will be given the opportunity to gain new skills and a nationally recognised qualification in a Business Administration Level 3 programme. The programme duration is 18 months followed by a three month End Point Assessment. This role will provide opportunities to gain practical experience and skills whilst working as a member of an experienced team where you can draw their support and knowledge.

There is an eligibility criteria for the government funded apprenticeship schemes that apply, and therefore applicants must be aged 16 and above and have been resident in the UK/EU for the last 3 years, must not possess a Degree, Level 4 qualification or above or already be in any form of formal government funded education.

Working days and or shift patterns will be agreed by the line manager to meet the needs of the service

Main duties of the job

To produce general correspondence, e.g. clinic letters, result letters, medical statements, complaints statements and miscellaneous reports as required.

Administration duties withing the Surgical Team working with the General Surgical Secretary as well as clinic typing using audio dictation.
